Reid on Video

It's been a long time since any video has been seen of Reid on this blog! He's learned to eat small bits but this is his first attempt at non-finger foods. He loves his oatmeal!!

Listen to Reid sing like an Osprey! Reid likes to make loud noises and recently figured out that he can squeal loudly; like an Osprey!

Reid is learning to walk! This was after eating beans with his hands and to keep cleaning down he was in only shoes and a diaper.

A Great Dog Remembered

A saddened farewell to a wonderful companion and friend, Ted-Ted.

Teddy lived 17 long and happy years at his home in Clarksville. When we saw him a Christmas, he was still wagging his tail in that "new puppy" way that he had.

Fortunately, Reid had a chance to meet Ted and get a few licks.
We will all miss Teddy and send our heartfelt sympathies to his family.

Easter Ham...

We moved Easter dinner from our "typhoid infested" home to my parents. Reid dressed in his best. Mommy put the pink ears on him and he hammed it up for a bit. What a cutie!

Daddy built Reid a toybox to hold his goodies. He was looking in the basket they used to be in and started to fuss when he didn't see them. I showed him the toybox and put him in it. He is now LOVING the new location.

Crazy Crib Baby. This is what we see when he is supposed to be napping.

Happy Easter Weekend!

This morning Reid was trying out his Easter ears while Mommy and Daddy are working through, what seems to be, the plague. We will see how tomorrow, Saturday, turns out and decide then if Easter dinner will still be hosted at our home or not. We don't need to share this illness!

He is on the tail end of another ear infection and feeling much better now. I think we both caught something he was carrying. It started last week with a cold. I think he ended up with fluids that wouldn't drain. We took him in on Monday (17th) and OOPS! another double ear infection. He must have a high threshold for pain because he didn't act that uncomfortable. Now we know, if he gets a cold, begin ear drops immediately to fend off the infection starting.

Good Friday for Reid

Mamma got Reid a play tent and he's checking it out.

He also took time to check out the outside of the tent.

While crawling around the tent, Reid noticed Socs outside on the deck so went to check him out.

This is the view Socs got of Reid.

Daddy was also outside starting to dig out the kayaks. They were uder more than 3 feet of snow. Definitely time to build a real boat shed!

Silly hat day

It was silly hat day at the DeJongh household. Reid got the better hat, but Daddy's getting even by taking his binky!

Reid decided to really show how cool he was; having the better hat and all, by putting on his cool shades from Auntie Julie.

Reid thought the hat wasn't the look he was truly going for. The sunglasses and the bink in the corner of his mouth give him that ultra-hip look he's cultivating.

Snow Banks in Maine

We have been on vaction this week and were able to enjoy several nice days!

Reid is walking through our front snowbank canyon. It's about 3 feet deep.

Because of the freeze/thaw cycles we've had the snow bank are dense enough to walk on!

Mommy and Reid are posing in the spot Daddy fell on the ice. The amazing thing is that Reid was not dropped and Daddy didn't get hurt! It may not be clear, but the snowbank behind Reid is about 5 feet high because of the amount of snow blown in this area.

Outside Adventure #2 and Superbowl

This is one of Reid's favorite toys, although we are not sure why! It is a wooden chicken craft that I have had for a while. He saw it in the kitchen one day and went bazzerker (not a word but it describes a lot of his actions). Now every time he sees it, he has to play with it. What a nut!

Superbowl Sunday! After Noah's first birthday party (Reid's daycare buddy) we went to watch the Patriots lose in Wayne, Maine at the Fylstra residence. Reid was sporting his Pats gear and his chewy football from the original Reid (the kid who we got his name from).

Reid played outside for about 5 minutes one day. He liked it enough but didn't want to be put down in the snow for too long. He likes to be outside though. Too cute!

Here is he standing up "big boy" in the snowbank out front of the house. He looks thrilled, huh?
