The Fun Continues

Reid and "Less Bobby" sit to hear one of Reid's favorite books, Skippy Jon Jones.

Mommy made Grandma DeJongh's recipe for goulash...needless to say, Reid was a HUGE fan! You can't see it well but Reid's ear is swollen from a bug bite.

This is my first vegetable crop. The thing on the right is a sugar snap pea. YUMMY! Everything except the green beans have fruit. The pumpkins are looking really ill. I got them an organic fungicide so we will see if it works.

Our Little Dirt/Rock Eater

This is Reid the scientist. He likes to study specimen with his tongue. He puts everything in there...I think to see what they are made of. This is his latest experiment. It involved a dead leaf and a rock.

His next experiment happened in the backyard at the pepper/cucumber garden. Look closely at the mouth....a high-tech scientific instrument.

No folks, that is NOT oreo cookie.

July Already!

Reid attended his first baseball game on the fourth of July. We went to a Portland Seadogs game with the rest of the Breton-Churchill clan. It was a great time.

After the game we saw one of the greatest fireworks displays. Reid sat calmly through it all and never flinched. He was VERY tired and ready for the nap on the ride home.

School is OUT!

We took Reid to Old Orchard Beach. He looked very "big boy" in his car seat.

Reid prepares to hold the ball for a field goal across the lifeguard chair...in between bites of beach sand.

Back at home, Reid plays in the lake with his friend Emma. He has more fun throwing in pine needles and dirt than swimming.

Updates....

Reid had a really nice visit with Grandma and Grandpa DeJongh when they were here. He will now stop at their picture in his ABC book and point. We will see them again in August so he will remember them quite well.

Grandpa and Reid played at the carpet and Grandpa even got inside Reid's tent to play a game of Peek-A-Boo.

The weekend after Grandma and Grandpa returned to Michigan, we headed to Moosehead Lake for the holiday weekend. The weather was great and Reid had a nice time playing with the other babies.

An Update...

We took Reid to have his one year old pictures done at the mall. He was just too cute! Grandma and Grandpa DeJongh were with us too so we took advantage of the three of them being together. I LOVE these pictures!

Reid is ONE!

Reid's aunties in Michigan got him a Cozy Coupe Convertible for his birthday. He loves it! Hannah took a turn giving Reid a ride around the yard.
Reid's Grandma and Grandpa came up from Michigan to celebrate the Reidster's first. He was happy to see them and showed off by learning how to go down stairs feet first. He isn't walking yet but is busy doing other things instead.

We had about 45 people, or so, come out to the house to celebrate Reid's first year. Grampa Couture sat in for a picture of 4 generations.

Reid enjoyed his cake....actually, enjoyed doesn't quite explain the extent of how much this boy likes cake. He went in for it with a big open hand and grabbed a handful at a time. He had a good time and ended up with cake on the back of his head! Silly Reid!

Some more-recent words/actions:
clapping (this has been for a while)
saying "baby" or "bay-wee" (we think this is Bailey, Kathy's dog)
saying memere - "mee mee"
saying "mommy" instead of just "ma ma"
...there are more but I have drawn a blank

Mother's Day Babies

We joined the rest of the Breton Clan for a breakfast at the Hilton.
It was a beautiful morning.

Jeff, Reid, and I poised for a photo at the fireplace in the Inn.

Reid stood at the stone wall for a photo while trying to dig in their mulch bed. He LOVES to dig!
