We had a wonderful Christmas season with a trip to Michigan and an "at home" Christmas when we returned. We hope to add more pictures soon. There is only time for a quick update today.

Reid has become "Big Brother Extrordinaire". He plays tea party with Kayla and includes her in his car or dragon games. He is so good to her. He still grabs at her hands and wants to interact when she is too tired or just tired of him and this makes her crabby. I think he is figuring it out though and is beginning to give her more space when she needs it.
Reid is beginning to write circles and lines that are more meaningful than just the scribbling we have been seeing. He is still reluctant to trace his name but he will when he is ready. A sticker chart may be put in use soon to help motivate him to try. He will start pre-school in the fall so we want him to have some familiarity with holding a pencil and writing letter lines.
Kayla (aka: LooLoo, K-Bomb, Petunia, Tunie, Punum, Baby Kayla, Pontipine (we are beginning to wonder why we bother to name our children...)) is growing up too fast. She has 'quit' pureed baby food and only wants to eat what we are eating. She holds her own bottle and if we put food on a spoon and hand it to her, she puts it in her mouth and feeds herself. She has also decided to not try to crawl and go straight to walking. She isn't walking yet but she wants to. She hold onto our hands and moves her feet forward on her own and wants to stand and hold onto furniture instead of sitting down to play. Reid was never this stubborn...a girl true and true!

What a cute line up of kids! And I can't believe how Kayla is growing. Our kids had lots of nicknames too - who knows where they come from?
PS - winter is really here in Michigan. 9 inches of snow yesterday and -17 degrees this morning!
