Broken Arm

Reid was playing with Nolan, jumping off his bed. He fell and did the above to his arm. You can see that the arm looks distorted above the wrist. We immedicately drove to the emergency room. He cried the whole way there so was exhausted. He fell asleep while waiting for the x-rays to be taken.

By the time they were ready for us, Reid was sound asleep. I had to hold him in my lap, positioning his left arm and using my other arm to prop his head up and out of the way while the x-ray was taken. He was found to have a green-stick fracture.

Once he fell back asleep after they formed a splint and wrapped it with ace bandage, it was a good night. He did wake once and it took about 20 minutes to get him calmed back down. We all slept until 8:30 am; a miracle in our house!

You can see that the splint/cast didn't slow him down a whole lot. He find that if he moved his splinted arm too much it started to hurt again. We have a schedule an appointment with an orthopedic doctor tomorrow. They will be able to tell us whether he'll need a cast and how long the healing will occur.
